Eiji Kadota, a prolific guitarist, composer and producer released a new profound single honoring his father on what would have been his 100th heavenly birthday (February 25th).  ‘What You’re Watching Over from the Sky’ featuring Eiji Kadota Sheng Fei Lu and Samuel “Birdy” Chen, is a loving tribute to Eiji’s father, who was born in 1926 and volunteered to enroll in the Japanese Army Aviation School at the age of 15 in 1941. After completing his training, he became a fighter pilot. He experienced aerial combat overseas and nearly died several times. He apparently volunteered for the kamikaze squadron near the end of the war, but the conflict ended soon after and he returned to Japan. After the war, Eiji’s father was busy with work, so Eiji doesn’t remember spending much time together. His father was the complete opposite of Eiji; he loved to talk, and often shared stories from the war. Eiji’s father then retired after decades of corporate work, passing away in 2016 at the age of 90. Now, Eiji feels as though his father is always watching over him from the sky.  Eiji wanted to write a song dedicated to his father for the past two years, and finally finished it. He’d like to thank Sheng Fei Lu on keyboards, Samuel “Birdy” Chen on bass, Mr. Q on drums, and Roman Klun, the recording / mixing / mastering engineer, who all participated in the recording of this song.  The telepathic interplay and joyful exchanges create an emotive ride with brilliant and thoughtful solos to enhance the listener’s journey – complete with the sound of an airplane at the intro and fading into the outro.
